What emails Claira sends, which are operational versus marketing, and how subscriptions are handled.

Email Notifications Overview

Claira sends both operational and marketing email notifications. Operational messages keep your case team informed about system events. Marketing messages include onboarding and newsletter content.

Types of email notifications

Claira currently sends the following email notifications:

Case activation broadcast

When Claira is activated on a case, all users assigned to that case receive an email letting them know that Claira is now available. This ensures your review team knows they can start using AI-assisted review without needing to be told individually.

Billing and usage operational emails

Claira sends operational billing messages such as plan-change notices, reservoir warnings, and monthly usage summaries. These messages are tied to active case operations.

Language behavior

  • Transactional emails are sent in each recipient's most recently used Claira language when known (en or fr).
  • The preference is user-specific and global (not tied to a specific case or organization).
  • If no user language is known for a recipient, Claira falls back to English.

Onboarding sequence and newsletter

Eligible contacts are enrolled in onboarding emails and the Claira newsletter through our subscription system. These messages follow unsubscribe preferences.

Who receives each type

  • Case activation broadcast: All users assigned to the case in Nuix Discover.
  • Operational billing and usage emails: Case users or a specific actor, depending on the event type.
  • Onboarding and newsletter emails: Contacts with active marketing subscription status.

When emails are sent

Operational emails are event-driven. For example, activation broadcasts are sent immediately when a case is activated. Monthly usage summaries are generated on a scheduled monthly run and are consolidated into one email per user.

Unsubscribe and compliance behavior

  • Marketing emails respect unsubscribe status immediately.
  • Operational emails are still sent for critical case and billing events.
  • Marketing emails include unsubscribe handling through our provider workflow.
