How portal admins install Claira as a UI Extension in Nuix Discover, including prerequisites, configuration steps, and what happens after setup.

Setting Up Claira

Before anyone on your team can use Claira, a portal administrator needs to install it as a UI Extension in your Nuix Discover environment. This is a one-time setup that takes just a few minutes.

Compatibility

Claira is compatible with:

  • Most recent versions of Nuix Discover (on-premises)
  • All versions of Neo Discover (on-premises)
  • All SaaS versions of Nuix Discover

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A signed license agreement with Claira
  • The Claira app URL: https://nuix-ca.claira.to
  • Your Organization ID provided by your onboarding specialist
  • Portal admin permissions in Nuix Discover

Installation steps

1. Add a new UI Extension

Portal HomeUI ExtensionsAdd

From Portal Home, navigate to UI Extensions and click Add to create a new extension.

2. Name the extension

Enter Claira as the extension name.

3. Set the configuration

In the configuration field, enter your Organization ID in this format:

ORG_ID=yourOrgID

Replace yourOrgID with the actual Organization ID provided by your onboarding specialist.

4. Set the URL

Paste https://nuix-ca.claira.to into the URL field.

https://nuix-ca.claira.to is the Canadian deployment domain. If your organization operates in another country, a local Claira deployment URL may be available. Contact support@claira.to for a region-specific deployment.

5. Generate the Authentication Secret

Click Generate Authentication Secret. This creates a secure token that connects your Nuix environment to Claira.

Copy the Authentication Secret immediately and send it to your onboarding specialist. They need it to complete the connection on their end. The secret is only shown once.

6. Save

Click Next, then Save to finish the installation.

What happens next

After you save, your onboarding specialist will use the Authentication Secret to complete the connection between your Nuix environment and Claira. Once that is done:

  1. Assign permissions -- grant Claira access to the organizations and cases where it should be available.
  2. Install on cases -- case admins can now follow the Installing in a Case guide to activate Claira on individual cases.
The portal-level installation only needs to happen once. After that, individual case activation is handled by case admins without needing portal access.

Required Claira admin activation and validation

If Claira opens in Nuix but shows an authentication blocker, your organization may still need the required Claira admin activation step.

This admin activation is a high-touch service and is required to:

  • establish the billing relationship,
  • validate users and security context,
  • confirm terms-of-use compliance before access is enabled.

To complete activation, Claira admins must confirm the following values for your environment:

  • Discover portal URL
  • Nuix numeric organization ID (orgId)
  • environment mapping for your deployment
  • UI Extension Authentication Secret

The Discover portal URL is registered by hostname (including subdomains); a path such as /legal is optional and does not affect matching after onboarding normalizes the value.

In the UIX blocker, Claira shows these values in plain text and provides a one-click email action to request activation.

If the blocker appears, use the "Request Claira Admin Activation" button directly from the blocker. It opens an email with available context details prefilled so our team can register your environment faster.
