Relevance and issues

Decide relevance, tag the issues, explain each tag and rate your confidence, each in its own field.

This is a Multi-Code template. Open Quickstart from the Multi-Code card and choose it under Multi-Code: Claira fills the card with the shared instruction and the four fields below. Each field is given the destination field in your case that has exactly the same name, and a field with no match is marked Choose a destination field.

What this template is for

The Relevance and Issues template asks for all of this in one answer, written to one field. Split across four fields, each part can be searched, sorted and checked on its own: filter on Relevance, group by Issues, and sample the lowest Confidence scores first in quality control.

The case description and the issue list sit in the shared instruction, so every field reads the same criteria.

Step-by-step in Claira

1. In the Multi-Code card, click Quickstart.
2. Open Multi-Code at the top of the library, expand Relevance and issues to read its fields, then click Load into Multi-Code. If the card already has fields, Claira asks before replacing them.
3. Open the shared instruction and replace the two placeholders: your case description, and your issues with a tag for each (ISS1, ISS2 and so on).
4. Check each row's Destination field. A row marked Choose a destination field is skipped until you pick one, or create one with Create new field in the picker.
5. Click Scan Document on 10 to 25 documents, including some you know are not relevant, and compare the answers with your own calls.
6. When the sample reads well, select the full set in Nuix Discover and click Start bulk scan.

The fields

Relevance

Decide whether this document is relevant to the case. Answer with exactly one value: YESREL or NOTREL.

Issues

If the document is relevant, list the tag of every issue it relates to, separated by commas (e.g., ISS1, ISS3). Use only tags from the issue list. If it is not relevant, or relates to none of the issues, leave this field empty.

Issue summary

If the document is relevant, write one sentence for each issue tag you listed, saying how that issue appears in the document. Name the passage rather than quoting it at length. If it is not relevant, leave this field empty.

Confidence

Rate your confidence in the relevance decision from 1 (low) to 5 (high). Answer with the number only.

Recommended customizations

• Keep each issue's description short and concrete in the shared instruction. A tag the model cannot tell apart from another is a tag it will apply to both.
• Drop Issue summary when you only need the tags. The other three fields still work.
• A field left empty writes nothing, so a document marked NOTREL keeps whatever Issues and Issue summary already held. Clear those fields in Nuix Discover first if you are re-running a pass.

Troubleshooting

• Issues lists tags that are not on your list. Restate in the row's prompt that only the listed tags may be used, and check that every issue in the shared instruction has one.
• Confidence is always 5. Add to the row's prompt what a 3 or a 2 looks like in your matter, for example "a passing mention of the issue".
• Relevance answers with a sentence. Restate that the answer is exactly one of the two values, with no other text.
