Insight templates
An insight template is a common output from a case: a chronology, an early case assessment, a privilege log. Each one knows which per-document data it reads and which prompt produces it, so instead of remembering the sequence yourself you pick the output you want and Claira works backwards.
How they fit together
A template joins two things you already use:
- A prompt template — the per-document instruction you run as a bulk task.
- An Insight — the single distilled output over those per-document results.
The template points at the prompt by name, so it never carries its own copy. When the prompt improves, every case gets the improvement.
The two ways in
From a completed bulk task. If you ran the prompt as a bulk task, the finished task offers the Insight its results can produce. Select Generate insight and you are done — nothing to look up, because finishing the task is the readiness.
From the Insights page. Open Insights and pick a template from the row at the top of the New insight card. Claira looks for a completed task that ran the matching prompt and tells you what it found:
- A dot on the template means the data already exists — the source fills in and you are one click from a result.
- No dot means the prompt has not been run in this case. Claira offers to run it, opening Bulk Tasks with the prompt filled in so you can choose the documents and confirm the cost there.
Claira matches on the template a task was started from, not on the prompt text — so a reviewer who tailors the wording still gets the offer.
The templates
- Chronology — a dated case timeline, each row citing its document.
- Early case assessment — scope, themes, key players, risk and next steps.
- Key documents — the documents that most directly evidence the case theory.
- Issue analysis — evidence organised under each pleaded issue.
- Privilege log — privilege calls by type and volume, with the reasoning behind each.
Writing your own prompt instead
Templates are a shortcut, never a requirement. The What do you want? box works exactly as it always has — pick a source, describe what you want, and generate. A template only fills that box in for you.
